I was a high school student who thought I was on top of the world because I had A’s, MVP awards, and scholarship offers. Then I got struck with brain aneurysms. I had a blood clot in my head the size of a golf ball. Everything I thought I had and valued was gone. I was on the verge of dropping out of high school.

I sought answers from doctors and was left with nothing. So I began a new age spiritually journey with a mission to rewire my brain with different meditation and breathing techniques. But I was left helpless, suicidal, and imprisoned by constant mental torture.

With faith almost non-existent, I began to call out to Jesus Christ as my “Lord and Savior.” Why? I have no idea. A seed must have been planted in my mind somewhere along the way and this was my last glimpse of hope at a chance for healing before I ended it all.

God says, “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, that you do not know.’” (Jeremiah 33:3). I didn’t know this biblical promise at the time, but I called out to Jesus night after night, week after week, and month after month. This “Jesus” was nowhere to be found. Until one night the Spirit of God came upon me.

I encountered Jesus and in that moment I knew He was the Great I AM, the Almighty Creator, and the God of the Universe. I experienced perfect soundness, complete healing from constant mental torment, and an eternal love more powerful and real than everything I’ve ever felt.

God spoke to me in that moment and said these simple words, “I love you. Everything is going to be okay.”

This was back in 2015. Now I can confidently say God is faithful and true to His promises.

Yet at that time, I was seeking God in all the wrong ways. I sought Him through different drugs but I ended up encountering demons, darkness, and Satanic powers. I guess I had to see the other side before I came fully into the light.

It wasn’t until I opened up the Bible for myself, got plugged into the church, and found Christian community that I began to encounter the true God again.

Now I preach God’s word and encourage others to faithfully attend their local church and find community that loves Jesus and seeks Him with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength.

I take pleasure in serving God and being His child. I’m nothing without Him.
