How to have a REAL RELATIONSHIP with God
We don't want to be people who just go to church or go through the practices of religion.
We want a REAL relationship with God.
You can go to church and still not know God.
You can be apart of a religion and still not have a real relationship with God.
A relationship with God is built on these 3 keys:
#1 Intimacy
To be intimate means to be close, familiar, and personal.
James 4:8 says, " Draw near to God and He will draw near to you."
Jeremiah 29:12-13 says, "Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart."
God calls us to search for Him with every part of our being.
One piece of the knowledge of the glory of God is better than a million pieces of wisdom on how to be successful according to the world's eyes.
God called Abraham His friend and Abraham became known as the father of faith.
Jesus said when we obey His commandments no longer does He call us servants, but friends.(John 15:14-15)
What could be greater than being a friend of the great I AM?
#2 Vulnerability
God doesn't just want a part of you. He wants all of you.
Every part of your heart. Give it to Him. The good and the ugly, He wants it all.
But are you willing to be vulnerable and ask Him to change you and make you more like Jesus?
Being vulnerable to the wrong person is dangerous. Being vulnerable to God leads to healing.
#3 Intentionality
Are you actually intention with your relationship with God?
Intentional means your meeting with God in the prayer room daily.
You have set time in your schedule to spend with the Creator of the Universe who loves you so much that He died for your redemption and freedom.
He has plans for you. He has healing for you. He has things to teach you and show you.
All of His ways are better and higher than your ways.
But do you have an intentional meeting time with God?
This is key to a real relationship.
God is not a side chick. God is not your long distant relationship. God is not a part of your past. God is not your best friends' friend. God is not your 911 call.
God is GOD. He is worthy and He deserves more.
